Delete my Magnetic account

You can delete your account yourself, from the app, in three steps. If you no longer have the app, you can ask us by email.

From the app

Open the Account tab.
Scroll to the very bottom, past "Sign out".
Tap "Delete my account", then confirm.

It takes effect at once: your account and your posts disappear immediately for everyone.

Without the app

Write to contact@magnetic-app.com from any address, giving the phone number of your account. We will verify it is you, then delete it. We handle these requests within 30 days.

You have 30 days to change your mind

Deletion is not immediately permanent. For 30 days, simply sign back in with your number and everything is restored: profile, posts, comments, messages, groups.

The app shows you the exact date at the moment of deletion.

After those 30 days, it is permanent. Your personal data is erased and the account anonymised. We will not be able to restore anything, even if you ask.

What is deleted

Your phone number, display name, username and bio;
Your profile photo and banner;
Your posts, comments and reactions;
Who you follow and who follows you;
Your devices and sessions.

What remains, and why

Messages you sent to other people stay in their conversation — we cannot erase what is in someone else's hands, any more than a letter already delivered. They no longer carry your identity.
Reports concerning you, if any, are kept as long as needed for moderation and our legal obligations.
A minimal technical record of the deletion, so we can prove it happened and prevent reuse of the account.
